5 Really Strange Deaths
5. The Boy in the Box
In February, 1957, a young child between the ages of four and six was found dead in a box. His hair had been clumsily cut. The box, since it was placed in a dumping ground, would not have seemed out of place, and hence, remained uncovered had it not been for a nosy teenager (Scooby Doo gang anyone?)
All investigations led to dead ends, and although it had been widely publicized by the media and his photographs appeared on newspapers and posters throughout the area.no one could place who the child. Also, autopsy reports showed that he had previously received professional medical care, and yet, no doctor could confirm the boy’s identity. He has been called “America’s Unknown Child”

4. The Lead Mask Case
In 1966 two men were found dead in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There was no sign of violence or poisoning. Both of them were using suits and coats. Near the bodies, there was an empty water bottle and a package containing two towels.
What’s so mysterious about this?
Both men were wearing lead masks.
Also, they contained a note containing some strange symbols and name combinations and letter saying - 16:30 be at agreed place, 18:30 swallow capsules, after effect protect metals wait for mask signal.
Remember, there was no sign of poisoning!
So, who were these men?
Why were they dressed so impeccably (the suits)?
Were they expecting radioactivity wherever they were supposed to go(the lead mask)?
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the note.
One of the best theories I’ve come across regarding this is – ALIENS!
No, seriously, think about it. Men in strange lead masks carrying a towel (Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy clearly states that one should always carry a towel when hitchhiking through the galaxy) and the fact that (I’m not kidding) UFO lights were reported to be seen in the area that day.

3. The Death of Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe, was an American author, poet, editor, and literary critic. He is known for his dark writing style in mystery and horror. In fact, he has an entire award named after him for mystery writers, so it really comes as no surprise that he is on this list.
E.A. Poe, after missing for two weeks, was found in a gutter in Baltimore, wounded, delirious and in clothes that were not his.
Theories of his death range from rabies, diabetes, epilepsy, carbon monoxide poisoning, alcohol dehydrogenase, and cooping (refers to the common of collecting men from bars, getting them very drunk, and making them vote repeatedly for the same candidate, in different guises).
Another mysterious aspect of his death was the “Poe Toaster”- an unknown man who visited his grave annually for 60 years, made a toast of cognac and left exactly three roses.

2. Murder of JonBenet Ramsey
In 1996, a six year old child beauty pageant queen was found murdered in her home, eight hours after she had been reported missing.
Her mother realized she was missing after getting a ransom note that said something along the lines of “Pay ransom money to us for her safe return, and if you notify the police or anyone, we will execute her. You are under constant scrutiny”. You can read the note here.
She was found in the basement strangled. The case was never solved.

1. Tamam Shud Case and the Isdal Woman
The names refer to two deaths, that occurred almost 20 years apart and in completely different parts of the world, and yet, are almost exactly similar.
I’ve listed out the similarities below:

NOTE: The note that the Tamam shud man carried has been solved (or claimed to have been solved ) by reddit user, Leconfield. Click here.
I’ve listed out the similarities below:
- They both remained unidentified as their dental records and fingerprints (hers had been sanded off) yielded no result
- Investigators traced suitcases in both cases. In both the cases, the contents of the suitcases had had their labels removed.
- They both had cryptic writings with them.
- Both appeared to be travelling through the country.
